Cloudconf 2013 Berlin: Windows Azure Active Directory

Yesterday I was speaker at the Cloudconf 2013 in Berlin. My first session was about Windows Azure Websites. The second one was an introduction into Windows Azure Active Directory. I recorded the second session (German). Here is the German abstract of my WAAD session:

Single-sign-on im Unternehmen ist durch Active Directory kein Problem. Nahezu jedes Unternehmen, ob klein oder groß, hat ein AD und verwaltet darin zentral die Benutzerkonten. Die Vorteile sind offensichtlich. Was passiert jedoch bei einem Wechsel in die Cloud? Wenn man verschiedene SaaS-Lösungen im Einsatz hat, wie macht man dann single-sign-on? Wie deaktiviert man einen Mitarbeiter, der aus dem Unternehmen ausscheidet, an einer Stelle für alle SaaS-Lösungen? Microsoft bietet mit Windows Azure Active Directory eine Lösung für dieses Problem. Rainer Stropek stellt in seinem Vortrag dieses AD in der Cloud vom Konzept her vor und zeigt anhand kurzer Beispiele, wie man in eigenen Anwendungen damit programmieren kann.

Bio

I am co-founder and CEO of the company software architects and have been serving this role since 2008. At software architects my team and I are developing the award-winning SaaS solution time cockpit. Previously, I founded and led IT consulting firms that worked in the area of developing software solutions based on the Microsoft technology stack.

In my work I focus on .NET development and software architecture. I have written some books and articles on C#, database development, Windows Azure, Windows 8 development, WPF, and Silverlight. Regularly I speak at conferences, do workshops and conduct trainings in Europe and the US. Since 2010 I have been MVP for Windows Azure.

I graduated the Higher Technical School Leonding (AT) for MIS with honors and hold a BSc (Hons) Computer Studies of the University of Derby (UK).
